Laser Facial & Skin Rejuvenation
What is non-ablative laser skin rejuvenation?
Non-ablative laser skin rejuvenation can improve skin texture and tone as well as the appearance of brown spots, fine lines, and mild wrinkles. It uses a laser that delivers thermal energy below the skin's surface without injuring the surface of the skin. The heat-induced damage promotes cellular renewal and the production of collagen, a structural protein that is responsible for skin elasticity, integrity and firmness. Non-ablative laser skin rejuvenation is a good option for those who have mild to moderate signs of aging and is safely done on skin types I-IV (see table below). Our Nd:YAG non-ablative laser can perform treatments on the face, neck, décolleté, and hands.
What should I expect?
Other than some mild redness and/or swelling, the skin is not visibly affected. Most patients can return to normal activities after treatment. Because non-ablative laser treatments have minimal to no downtime, they are a favorable choice for facial rejuvenation for those who have a busy life style and cannot afford to take time off. Avoid sun exposure and tanning for one week prior to treatment and throughout the course of treatment. Use a sunscreen with SPF 30 or greater at all times. To achieve optimal benefit, 4 to 6 treatments may be necessary at 3 to 4-week intervals.

Benign pigmented skin lesions
Using our Alexandrite laser, benign pigmented skin lesions can be treated. These lesions include age spots, freckles, and flat pigmented birthmarks. Treatments are quick. The laser delivers pulses of energy that feel like a snap from a rubber band. The pigment gets destroyed when it absorbs the light and heat of the laser. This laser treatment is safe for those with skin types I-III.
What should I expect?
Immediately following treatment, your skin may feel warm and flushed. Any brown spots will appear darker, and the dark spots that appear immediately following your treatment will continue to become darker. Treated lesions will likely crust then slough off over the course of several days or weeks. Patients should not scratch or pick at crusts. Patient may return to normal activities after treatment. Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least 4 weeks prior to treatment and throughout the course of treatment. Use a sunscreen with SPF 30 or greater at all times. To achieve optimal benefit, 1 to 2 treatments may be necessary spaced 3-4 weeks apart.
Other skin conditions treated
We also treat warts, skin tags, and seborrheic keratosis using cryotherapy or by excision.
